Five Benefits of Online Sex Work

after the positive feedback I received from my last two sex work (SW) articles, I wanted to dive a little deeper into its benefits, particularly for women leaving abusive or toxic relationships, women who want to embrace their sexuality, or women who want to give a giant fuck you to capitalism and working for The Man. as stigmatized as this profession is, if you are lucky enough to become successful at it, you'll essentially be working for nobody but yourself. the freedoms that come with it can be life-changing, but The Man keeps this a secret. why? because sex work is one of the only professions where a woman has all the control. we currently live in a society that is so afraid of this, that we have an entire political party actively encouraging women to leave the workforce as we speak. they don't want us making our own money. they want us home, barefoot, and pregnant, but there are other options. is online sex work the only option? of course not. but online sex work IS the only option that women are actively discouraged from getting into, and I'm here to tell you why that shouldn't be the case.

Five Benefits of Online Sex Work

1.) you pick your own hours gone are the days where you have to work 9-5 with little to no breaks. online sex work gives you the freedom to make your own schedule. busy mom? disabled? caretaker for an aging parent? whatever your circumstances, online sex work gives you the freedom to arrange your schedule as you please. The Man loves to make you think you must work 40 hours a week to be a productive member of society, but if you're able to make enough money to pay your bills and feed yourself and your family, then who cares if you work 40 hours or 10 hours?

2.) you work at your own pace in your own home

there are no deadlines. no assignments. no bosses. no commute. you pick what content you are comfortable making, and you make it in the comfort of your own home. whether you strictly post photos or heavily interact with clients, it's all up to you. and if you get tired of your routine and want to switch it up? you can do it without having to ask for permission. you literally can do whatever you want.

3.) good for those who are disabled or neurodivergent

if you are disabled or neurodivergent, the world was not built for you, and that is a fact. so often are disabled people over looked and under supported. online sex work gives those of us with disabilities a way to earn a generous income without forcing us to go beyond what we are able to do. many of us find working a neurotypical job with typical work hours to be stressful, daunting, or even impossible, and that's why sex work can be a life saver for us.

4.) it can lead to total financial independence

it may not offer benefits like insurance, but if you are successful at sex work, it could potentially lead to total financial independence. keep in mind that that is not a typical result in sex work, but at the least, it can be a good way to supplement any other income you may be making.

5.) it can be empowering

maybe it makes you feel powerful because of how much money you make. maybe it makes you feel powerful because of the influence you have over men. maybe it makes you feel powerful because it makes you feel beautiful. or maybe it's all three. regardless, sex work has the potential to make you feel more connected to yourself, your mind, and your body. it can help you learn about your own sexual needs and desires. it can help you embrace your body if you have low self-esteem. there are so many positives to sex work when it comes to your relationship with yourself, especially if you're able to let go of any shame you may have around the work, your body, or sex itself. in the end, it's a great tool to reclaim and practice total bodily autonomy. your body. your rules. your power.
